Just want to say I really appreciate this blog. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Peat, but have noticed a certain degree of dogmatism impacting his approach (probably more from the interpreters and blogs than from Dr. Peat himself), and that he doesn't always update his conclusions with new information. He's "just one guy" and no single person can have 100% mastery over a topic as big as this.

Excellent blog ! Ray Peat is an inspirational science writer but his claims should be weighted against all scientific studies and ones own personal experience.

  4. Thank you very much for this blog. I have loved reading Ray's work for a long time as it challenges conventional knowledge in medicine/nutrition and provides alternative viewpoints, but have also been very skeptical when it comes to some of his claims and especially what people interpret some of his claims to mean. Not to mention, he bases many of his claims off of very old or incomplete research. I will use this site as a reference for the future.

  5. Thanks for site. Agree with Ray but it's helpful to reason through these challenges to his conclusions. The "correct" answer is very nuanced and contextual, as ray says, and that should not be forgotten, nor general reccomendations promulgated

  6. Very glad to find this blog. There is almost no serious evaluation of RP on the Internet yet loads of Peatarianism. Anyone who tells you to discard food practises that half the world has been using for thousands of years needs scrutiny. Maybe RP became famous because we all want to hear saturated fat, salt and sugar are good; eat more, exercise less. Yeay!!! (I wanted to list my name but didn't know how so Unknown. Bo Hodiak

  7. Excellent blog posts and necessary site. I say that as a big Ray Peat fan (which you probably are too). I also think Peat would approve. I very much hope you write again, even if only occasionally.
